About Us

NURU, a Swahili name meaning light, carries a long-standing symbolism of illumination and enlightenment. Across cultures, it has been associated with clarity, wisdom, and understanding, values that sit at the heart of this practice.

Grounded in over 20 years of psychological experience, NURU Consultancy exists to bring clarity and compassion into care. Our mission is to deconstruct myths, destigmatise taboo topics, and demystify psychologically informed thinking, making it accessible, relevant, and human.

We place the person at the centre. Our approach is holistic, attentive, and relational, using person-centred formulations to understand needs, offer evidence-based recommendations, and support meaningful change.

NURU Consultancy provides services to legal professionals, criminal justice agencies, health and social care teams, family courts, schools, corporations, charities, and individuals. We help people and services through the thoughtful application of psychological theory, reflective practice, and trauma-informed methods.
